Responsibilities
Franciscan Medical Group, as part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is currently seeking a Full Time Rad Tech for our Franciscan Orthopedic Associates Clinic in Tacoma, WA. Seeking a Radiology Tech for a team-based environment in a busy Orthopedic and Foot & Ankle Clinic. Free parking. Ample hands-on patient care in an ambulatory outpatient clinic setting. Job Summary:
Operates radiology equipment to make clinical diagnostic imaging films as directed by physicians and performs routine diagnostic procedures.
Essential Duties:
- Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking diagnostic images following established procedures.
- Instructs patients regarding procedures. Selects length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient basis. Observes patients for vital signs during examination.Â
- Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiology equipment; cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiological equipment. Maintains examination rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiological supplies
- Develops and processes radiological film, if applicable. Examines radiology film and/or digital exams for properties such as density and contracts, definition, magnification and distortion.
- Delivers film to radiologists for reading/interpretation through various computer software systems, if applicable. Prepares films and/or digital copies for FMG Physician/providers or outside provider needs. .Â
- Participates in training employees, residents and student technologists in equipment operation, patient movement, and quality assurance.
- Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested; enhances professional growth through continuing education programs, conferences and workshops.
Qualifications
Education/ Work Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiological technology, equivalent on the job training, or military service or course.
- Within the last two- (2) years, one- (1) year of experience as a radiology technologist preferred.Â
Licensure/Certifications:
- State of Washington certification as a Radiology Technologist.
- Washington State American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT/CCRT) certification required.
- Must have a current CPR certification or must be certified within 30 days of hire date.
