CHI St. Alexius Health Garrison includes the services of a 22-bed critical access hospital, a 26-bed skilled nursing facility, an attached rural health clinic, and a newly remodeled Emergency Department that is available 24 hours a day. We offer many outpatient services, including physical therapy, radiology services, laboratory services, cardiac rehabilitation, and IV treatments.

Since opening in 1952, CHI St. Alexius Health Garrison has been dedicated to serving the residents of Garrison and the surrounding rural communities.

Garrison Memorial Hospital is equipped with 4 emergency rooms, on-site lab, radiology, CT and physical therapy services. Our patients have access to 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed program, and acute care services. Our professional and caring staff is dedicated to ensuring patients have compassionate and excellent care.


Responsibilities

Job Summary / Purpose

The Activities Aide is responsible for helping with activities in the Activity Director’s presence or covering the A.D. in her absence. 

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  • Effectively assist in providing an ongoing program of activities designed to meet the interests and physical, mental, and psychosocial well being of each resident.
  • Implement activity program as assigned
  • Use a positive approach to encourage activity participation 
  • Adapt activities according to resident’s needs, handicaps and capabilities 
  • Report significant changes in attendance/participation to Activity Director 
  • Demonstrate flexibility and initiative on the job.  
  • Effectively carry out the principles of quality human relations by maintaining good rapport and cooperative working relationship with all persons.
  • Exhibit friendly and helpful behavior by anticipating and responding to the needs of all persons. 

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Previous experience in an activity department, or nursing facility, is preferred
